Reviewing WPS documents

WECS can review yours or a supplier’s WPSs (and WPQRs) in accordance with the standard (and a customer standard if necessary) producing a set of comments to be acted upon if required.

Writing a WPS

BWEC can write your WPS (using your WPQR) documents and supply a PDF version that you can authorise (sign). Please contact WECS using the Contact page to discuss this option.

Note: Welding Engineering Consultancy is unable to sign the WPS documentation on your behalf for your company as you, as the stated manufacturer (in the heading on the document) are responsible for its use within your manufacturing site.

Welding Engineering Consultancy can sign these documents if a retention contract is in place.

Writing a WPS for YOUR company

The authorised person for the manufacturer (Welding Engineer, Welding coordinator or another job title) is required by the standard to sign the WPS documentation.

A WPS is a document that is a work instruction used by the welder to weld within a defined range. The document needs to contain all the essential, nonessential and in some cases supplementary essential variants as defined by the relevant code or standard. This can be tricky and sometimes complicated if you are not used to reading codes and standards. WECS has extensive experience and knowledge of writing these documents and can assist your company with these.

If you want to discuss WPS advice, WPS reviewing or you want more information, please contact BWEC using the Contact page
